During the MLB All-Star break, fans can still bet across game markets, player props, and the Home Run Derby at Stake Sportsbook. We cover the event with pre-match and live betting options throughout All-Star Week. First, brush up on how to bet on baseball and keep reading to learn more about betting on the 2026 MLB All-Star Game.

When and where is the 2026 MLB All-Star Game

The 2026 MLB All-Star Game is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

With a four-day schedule during All-Star Weekend, there are plenty of betting opportunities you can take advantage of at Stake before the All-Star Game, especially for the Futures Game and Home Run Derby. Things get underway with the HBCU Swingman Classic on July 10. The Futures Game and a 3-on-3 co-ed game are scheduled for July 12. Finally, the 2026 Home Run Derby is scheduled for July 13, the night before the All-Star Game.

How the All-Star Game roster is selected

There are two phases of fan voting for the 2026 MLB All-Star Game. Phase 1 narrows the field down to two American League players and two National League players at each position. Phase 2 is a vote between those two players for a spot in the starting lineup. The exceptions are Ernie Clement of the Toronto Blue Jays and Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers. They earned the most votes in their respective leagues during Phase 1, earning them an automatic spot in the starting lineup.

After fans decide the starters, players, coaches, and managers all vote to determine the backups, as well as five starting pitchers and three relief pitchers on each team. The Commissioner’s Office then completes each roster while ensuring every MLB team is represented

Home Run Derby format and new rules

The 2026 Home Run Derby will have a different set of rules than in past years. Rather than rounds being timed or batters having a predetermined number of “outs” on non-home runs, players will get a certain number of swings every round. This matters for bettors because hitters are no longer working against the clock. They may evaluate hitters differently now that it’s guaranteed everyone gets the same number of swings.

In the first round, all 8 contestants will get 20 swings, with the top 4 players advancing. In the second round, each batter will get 15 swings in a head-to-head matchup. The seeds for this round will be determined by the first round totals. In the event of a tie after 15 swings, the players will compete in a swing-off, with each player getting 3 swings. The final round will also feature 15 swings by each batter and a three-swing swing-off if there is a tie.

One final rule to be aware of is the final swing bonus. If a player’s final swing of a round is a home run, they can continue to swing until they don’t hit a home run.

Home Run Derby odds and confirmed participants

As of July 8, Junior Caminero and Ben Rice are the only confirmed participants in the Home Run Derby in 2026. Betting markets will be finalised once all the participants are known. It’s best to evaluate all 8 hitters before making any wagers.

All-Star Game betting markets at Stake

The betting markets at Stake for the MLB All-Star Game are similar to the ones you’ll find during the season, including player props. However, since the All-Star Game is a special event, there are some differences.

Moneyline and total runs - AL vs NL winner, over/under total runs

Similar to any other baseball game, you can make a moneyline bet on which team will win the All-Star Game, a bet on the run line similar to spread bets in other sports, as well as an over/under bet on the total runs scored in the game. Parlay bets are also common for those who want to combine multiple bets.

For the All-Star Game winner, line movement before the game is common if a majority of betting favours one team. When each team’s starting pitcher is announced, or players have to be replaced due to injury, odds for the All-Star Game can also change. There is also line movement during the game for those participating in live betting, as the odds and run line can change based on how the game unfolds.

All-Star Game MVP odds - MVP market explanation, how it works

The MLB All-Star Game always awards an MVP, which is a popular betting market and one that doesn’t exist for regular-season games. Even in a game full of star players, only one player wins MVP, with the market settled when the official announcement is made after the game. Historically, hitters win MVP more often because pitchers usually don’t pitch for more than an inning, whereas hitters often get multiple at-bats. It’s worth noting that 80% of MVP votes come from the media, while fan votes tally the remaining 20%. Betting on the MVP market before the game is difficult because any player could potentially win.
