What is the UEFA Nations League?

Fifty-five teams compete in the UEFA Nations League. Each league is split into four groups, and the highest-ranked teams in Europe make up League A.

This sees teams like England, Belgium, France, Portugal, and Spain compete against one another. At the end of the group stage, winners (those in League B, League C, and League D) are crowned and promoted, while the teams at the bottom of the groups are relegated to the league below.

The winners of the groups (excluding League A) enter a play-off to earn a place in the UEFA European Championships or FIFA World Cup.
