Major Fighters in UFC Saudi Arabia
Robert Whittaker
Former middleweight champion Robert Whittaker is best known for his excellent fights against Yoel Romero. Although he was dethroned by Israel Adesanya and recently lost to current champion Dricus Du Plessis, Whittaker has big wins over Vettori and Costa, earning his spot as the number three ranked fighter at middleweight.
Khamzat Chimaev
When Chimaev first appeared in the UFC, he looked like he would tear through the welterweight division and soon be challenging for the belt. Since then, his career has been disrupted by injuries and illness. He now fights at middleweight and recently beat former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman to extend his record to 13-0.
Sergei Pavlovich
Until recently, Sergei Pavolvich was on an impressive six-fight win streak in the UFC, all by KO or TKO. However, he was stopped by Tom Aspinall in the heavyweight interim title fight, derailing his momentum somewhat. Still, he holds the number three ranking in his division, and his knockout power is dangerous for anyone.
Alexander Volkov
Volkov was also defeated by Aspinall when they met back in 2022, and his only other losses in the UFC are to Cyril Gane, Curtis Blaydes, and Derrick Lewis, all top fighters. He’s currently ranked fifth in the division, and his impressive height of 6’7” makes him a challenging opponent to deal with.
UFC Saudi Arabia Fight Card and Betting Odds
UFC Saudi Arabia Main Event
Whittaker has had an impressive career in the UFC, beating lots of big names and securing the middleweight title. After losing the title, he bounced back to continue his winning ways, but failed to beat Adesanya a second time and was also stopped by Dricus Du Plessis. He comes into this fight as the underdog.
A win over Robert Whittaker would almost certainly earn Chimaev the next title shot. His relentless, wrestling-heavy style makes him very difficult to fight. Still, he seemed to gas out in his last fight against Usman. This will definitely be his toughest test yet, but he’s the heavy favorite to win according to the odds.
UFC Saudi Arabia Co-Main Event
Pavlovich looks like one of the scariest fighters in the heavyweight division. His huge reach gives him an advantage against anyone, even those much taller than him, and he has real power in his punches. Although he lost to Aspinall, he could easily earn another shot at the title, and an impressive win against Volkov would do it.
These two have reportedly trained together before. If Volkov is to win, he’ll have to use his height to his advantage and keep away from Pavlovich. He’s the underdog in this fight for a reason, but if he fights smart, he could still beat his friend to a majority decision or unanimous decision.
