Who will win Worlds 2026: our outright prediction

We’re picking T1 to continue their LoL Worlds dominance and win the four-peat. The South Korean team has won the last 3 LoL World Championships and has 6 wins overall. While they’re not the current betting favourites, it’s hard to look past their enormous success in this competition.

Gen.G are the opening betting favourites, and many LoL Worlds predictions point to them lifting the Summoner’s Cup. While Gen.G had a strong year, our Worlds 2026 predictions suggest T1's experience will be enough to crown them LoL Worlds winner. Learn how outright markets work in our esports betting guide.

Can T1 complete a Worlds four-peat?

T1 became the first team to achieve a 3-peat in 2025, winning their third consecutive title. The biggest storyline of the 2026 LoL Worlds is that they definitely have a chance to complete the four-peat. However, they’re by no means the betting favourites.

T1's biggest advantage is their experience, with the core team of Oner, Faker and Keria together since 2021. Faker, a 6-time world champion, has been with the team since 2013. He’s widely regarded as the best player in LoL history, and he can make a difference in any match.

However, while the roster has plenty of experience, T1 are missing Gumayusi at ADC, with Peyz taking over the position in 2026. That can make a major difference, and in 2026, T1 hasn’t achieved domestic success, finishing 3rd in the LCK.

LoL Worlds 2026 contenders and teams to watch

Gen.G

Gen.G are the favourites to win the LoL Worlds according to the opening betting odds. They won the LCK, the most competitive LoL regional league, going 19-7 over the regular season. They also hold a 3-1 head-to-head record against Hanwha Life Esports this season, which puts them as the tournament's top seed.

Like T1, Gen.G has an experienced roster, with many players on the team since 2024. Chovy is their standout star and is widely considered the world's most dominant laner right now. Meanwhile, Ruler won the LCK Finals MVP award, dominating all 4 games and securing the win for his team.

However, while Gen.G have excelled throughout the season, they’ve had some hiccups. They were thoroughly beaten 3-0 by G2 at First Stand and missed Mid-Season Invitational after losing a qualification match to T1.

Hanwha Life Esports

Hanwha Life Esports go into LoL Worlds 2026 as the joint 2nd favourites for outright winner alongside T1. They’re an interesting team to watch, with an extremely talented roster. This year, Hanwha Life Esports won the MSI for the first time in their history, beating BLG in the Grand Final.

The Hanwha Life Esports roster features players like Zeus, Kanavi, and Zeka, all among the best in the world. They also have Gumayusi, the bottom laner who joined from T1 last year. Their roster has a deep champion pool, making them well-suited to the Bo5 Fearless Draft format in the knockouts.

Although they finished second in the LCK this year, Hanwha Life Esports can still win major tournaments. They showed that this year with their success at the MSI. However, T1 eliminated them in the EWC quarterfinals.

Bilibili Gaming and Anyone's Legend (LPL)

South Korean teams have dominated the LoL Worlds, but Chinese teams have held their own in major international LoL tournaments. Bilibili Gaming are the 4th favourites in the opening betting odds, close behind Hanwha Life Esports and T1. This season, they won the 1st and 2nd LPL Splits. They came 2nd in the MSI Cup after losing 3-2 to Hanwha Life Esports in the final.

Anyone’s Legend are the 5th favourites in the opening betting odds. However, their odds are much longer than those of the teams ahead of them. This season, they finished 4th in the 1st and 2nd LPL Splits before winning LPL Split 3. Compare the latest odds for every team on our League of Legends betting page

Dark horses and value picks for Worlds 2026

Dplus KIA are a great option if you’re looking for a value pick. They’re ranked behind Anyone’s Legend based on the opening odds, but we rate their chances of progressing in this tournament. While they’re Korea’s 4th seed, they recently won the 2026 eSports World Cup, beating Gen.G in the semifinal. Their talent gives them a real chance of progressing through the Swiss Stage, where most matches are Bo1. However, they’ll need to be more consistent to make it through the Bo5 knockouts.

LYON offers good potential as dark horse picks, especially for the opening Swiss Stage. The LCS 2nd seed won LCS Lock-In and LCS Spring, while coming 2nd at LCS Summer. They had great international results this year, including a 3-0 win over G2 in the MSI. While they may not win the tournament, favourable matchups could see them go on a deep run.

Worlds 2026 bracket predictions: Swiss and knockout stage

The Worlds Swiss Stage begins after the play-in stage in Los Angeles, which is held at the Riot Games Arena. 16 teams play in the Swiss Stage, with 8 teams advancing to the knockout rounds. We’re predicting Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports, T1, Bilibili Gaming, Anyone’s Legend, Dplus KIA, G2 and LYON to progress.

In the quarterfinals of the knockout round, we’ve got Gen.G beating G2. We also predict that Hanwha Life Esports will beat Dplus KIA, while Bilibili Gaming will beat LYON. Our last remaining quarterfinal prediction is for T1 to beat Anyone’s Legend.

For the semifinals, our LoL Worlds bracket prediction is that Gen.G will beat Hanwha Life Esports and T1 will beat Bilibili Gaming.

Our predicted Worlds 2026 final and champion

We predict the LoL Worlds 2026 final will be contested between Gen.G and T1. It should be a thrilling Grand Final, but we’re giving the edge to T1. Our final prediction is that T1 will win 3-2.
